The Centre for Information on Language Learning and Research will be offering advice on developing language use through international e-mail links at a conference being held atJKeele University, Staffordshire, September 5-7. The theme of the conference is The World at Your Fingertips: On-line Media for Language Learning.

A residential workshop, Working for Success in A-level Modern Foreign Languages, takes place at Homerton College, Cambridge, on September 19-20. It aims to develop language and study skills for A-level students and includes workshops on French, German and Spanish.

Under-achievement and motivation in modern languages will be ex-plored in Motivating! Modern Language Learners in year 7 to 11 at the Novotel, York, November 21-22.
