Fire under the ocean

11th June 2004 at 01:00
Take an illuminating trip to the depths of the ocean just by clicking your mouse at the Magic Mountain section of the National (US) Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration website. It has fascinating images and video from researchers exploring the hydrothermal vents of the Magic Mountain Chimney Fields under the Pacific Ocean, part of the Earth's submarine Ring of Fire. Click on hotspots on the map to get to information and movies. Select "Magic Mountain Virtual Site" on the Ocean Explorer home page at: http:oceanexplorer.noaa.gov
