The first Harry Potter was wizard

IN all the publicity that has occurred over Harry Potter, I am surprised that nobody has noticed that he has already appeared in print.

In 1991 Random House published Metalmiss by Linda Pitt. This is a story about a headteacher who appoints a robot teacher, with X-ray eys, to Pinkenton primary school because he cannot find a human replacement. The hero is one Harry Potter. Children of my acquaintance love the story and "Whizzo the Wizard" stories that followed later.
