First Lady praises UK

Laura Bush, the US First Lady, praised Britain's Teach First scheme at a White House dinner this week held to honour the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall. Mrs Bush said the Teach for America scheme, in which high-flying graduates work in challenging schools for two years, had been successfully replicated by the UK project, which started in London and will begin in Manchester next year.
