Scotland's first tennis scholarships are to be offered by Kilgraston School in Perthshire.

The school, with nine outdoor synthetic courts and one indoor court, will offer six scholarships for girls aged 11-16 from September.

Scottish national coach Terry Mabbitt said: "The scholarships are excellent news for tennis. They allow promising players time to concentrate on their main sport at a young age as part of their normal school life."
