Five charged

Five face assault charges in connection with a paint attack on Tory party chairman Dr Brian Mawhinney and his wife.

Three students from Kingsway College, north London, a University of North London student and a Tower Hamlets schoolteacher are due to appear in court on February 14 after an incident in November.

The Kingsway students were suspended and banned from the college. The High Court upheld an injunction barring them from college for 12 weeks. A student bid to block the ruling failed.
