We are happy to report that one of Osler's babes is set on a dramatic career change that one of her inspectorate reports would doubtless describe as "Very Good - certainly not Unsatisfactory".

Next month Moira MacFarlane HMI exchanges the delights of inspecting further education colleges to become consul general in Florence, covering Tuscany, Umbria, Le Marche, Emilia-Romagna and the Republic of San Marino. It's a hard life.

Needless to say, MacFarlane is probably distraught at the prospect of having to give it all up before completing the inspection of John Wheatley College. Still, Easterhouse's loss is Florence's gain.
