Holyrood Secondary won the Heinz Ketchup Under-14 Scottish Schools' Cup final with a narrow 3-2 win over Mearns Castle High in a west-coast final at Scotstoun last month.

Patrick Masterson opened the scoring early in the game with a long-range shot and that was how it stood at half-time, although a header from defender Stuart Sangster struck the crossbar midway through the first hlf for Mearns Castle.

Robert Torley struck twice in five minutes midway through the second-half to put Holyrood three goals ahead. But in a thrilling finale, Brian McLean pulled back one goal in the 67th minute and five minutes later David Campbell scored another with a close-range shot. However, Holyrood held on for victory which, on the balance of play, they deserved.
