Formula rejected

The Association of Teachers and Lecturers has dismissed Government proposals to produce a common funding formula for all 16 to 19-year-olds in schools, colleges and training schemes as "an accountants' chimera." It criticises the lack of reference in the consultation report to specialist schools, city technology colleges and the assisted places scheme whose sixth-forms were funded preferentially.
