Fred's still loyal

TONY BLAIR might not be able to count on most Labour party members - particularly those in London who naughtily voted for Ken Livingstone last week - but he can still count on Fred Jarvis.

Fred, one-time gen. sec. of the NUT and a long-time amateur snapper, has just seen two of his signed photographs sold at auction to raise fuds for the Labour party. They show Mr Tony at the election night victory rally at the Royal Festival Hall, and Gordon Brown at the Treasury.

Many NUT members are of course deeply fed-up with new Labour over Tony's obsession with performance-related pay. Quite what they think of Fred's fund raising efforts, we wonder.
