Preston is a shy Anglophone bear and Nancy is a bossy French-speaking duck.

They meet in a toyshop and can't communicate until Ontario, the wise bilingual moose, comes to their aid. Their adventures after a little girl buys them are related in the attractive story Dans le magasin de jouets by Stephen Power. Aimed at small children, it introduces some basic French vocabulary into a predominantly English narrative. It costs pound;3.99 and is published by Power Marshall.
