Friday hero

25th February 2000 at 00:00
Mrs Betty Perks is the cleaner in charge and lunchtime assistant at Caynham Church of England primary school, near Ludlow in Shropshire But she is much more, says headteacher Steve Burrage who nominated her for being the most caring person he's ever worked with. Mrs Perks has been a favourite with village children for generations. Recently she joined the governing body at this 61pupil school and became a special needs support assistant. (Her Friday morning teas with mince slices are legendary too.) Please send the name of your Friday Hero - and why they should get a bouquet - to Sarah Bayliss, TES Friday, Admiral House, 66-68 East Smithfield, London E1W 1BX or e-mail her at sarah.bayliss@tes.co.uk.
