Nothing new in ex-forces personnel becoming teachers

Ex-forces personnel become teachers (Magazine, June 11) - nothing new there! Sixty years ago, I suppose all my male teachers were veterans of one of the world wars. As teachers, they had little in common. Some kept order; others, at best, struggled; some were good teachers; some were rather poor.
