Generous John?

18th February 2005 at 00:00
I am delighted that former Learning and Skills Council chief John Harwood received a golden handshake of pound;218,700 after he quit in 2003 (FE Focus, February 4).

Funnily enough, that is about the sum needed to pay staff at my college their nationally negotiated pay rise for 2004-05, though not enough to backdate it to August. I am sure Mr Harwood would like to help out his fellow workers. I shall write my begging letter now.
