Get wheelie up to date

The biggest makeover in cycle training since the 1940s was launched this week. 'Bikeability: the cycling proficiency for the 21st century' will be trialled with 3,000 children across England before a national roll-out from spring 2007.

The aim is that by 2009, 100,000 children a year - half of all year six pupils- will have the chance to get the new award.
