Giant Icons

28th September 2001 at 01:00
Children may be capable of using computers for games and music but less sure when it comes to more mundane activities. Giant Icons are sets of 10 tough, laminated A4 cards that display the basic command symbols found on Microsoft toolbars. For getting work started and finished, there are the icons for opening, closing and saving documents. From word processing, the pack provides Spellchecker, several symbols for altering fonts, and examples of Times New Roman, Arial and Comic Sans. They are utilitarian rather than spectacular, but placed on the wall will provide helpful reminders. Giant Icons costs pound;6.99 plus VAT for a pack of 10 cards from Active ICT, Monk Road, Alfreton DE 55 7RL. Tel: 01773 830255; fax: 01773 830325; email:; website:
