Moody dance is the order of the day at The Glade festival, so if you don't like surly looking blokes in Ray-Bans nodding slowly to music that sounds like a tractor backfiring, then this isn't the party for you.

The Glade (July 17-21, camping tickets pound;125) is a spin-off from the old dance stage at Glastonbury and prides itself on its party-loving ethos, with as much emphasis on creating a magical atmosphere as the tunes, which are plentiful and pretty much solidly electronic.

While some of the sounds are a bit reminiscent of The Orgazoid, the spoof techno musician parodied on Peep Show (the Sketchy Pimps anyone?), there are more recognisable names too - Dreadzone, The Orb, Utah Saints, Red Snapper, Eat Static - and a healthy mixture of styles.

Tickets were still on sale at the time of going to press and can be booked via the festival's website. Expect a bizarre mixture of rolling hills and hardcore techno, and don't expect an early bedtime.
