Gladiators is a different show

The answer to JF Rourke's question (TES, December 1) is that Schools Prom participants do not compete against each other.

The winners, losers and spurious suspense of the gladiatorial contest that is a major feature of "good" televiion are absent from all Music for Youth events. Music for Youth is organised for the benefit of the creative many rather than the gifted few.
