Glasgow job losses

Glasgow teachers are being "punished for succeeding," according to the national vice-president of the Educational Institute of Scotland. Ian McCalman, referring to the threatened loss of 600 teaching jobs in the wake of growing improvements in exam results, called for a show of strength at the demonstration being organised by Glasgow EIS on January 25.
