Connect more

- The history club for S1-4 pupils at Our Lady and St Patrick's High in Dumbarton is researching the names on the school's war memorial to try and make local connections. The club has managed to make connections in two cases to date - to a senior pupil and a member of the local community - and now plans to step up its public campaign for information.

- British Airways has adapted its language test for customer-facing staff, to encourage more young people to continue with language learning. Jerome Lestienne, principal teacher of modern languages at Elgin Academy, has undertaken a one-day training session in its Flag Award scheme at BA headquarters and is now accredited to assess his volunteer pupils through the BA test.
