Governing body expelled

30th July 2004 at 01:00
The entire governing body of a Warwickshire school has been sacked on the order of ministers after failing to tackle poor teaching and underachievement by pupils.

Governors of Hartshill school, a technology college near Nuneaton, are to be replaced by an interim executive board after the school was put in special measures following a damning inspection by the Office for Standards in Education. Inspectors said it was "a poor school providing poor value for money".
