Governor skills are being exploited;Letter

IS IT not time to reconsider the question of remuneration for school governors? Those of us who undertake these responsibilities, which include legal liability, are subjected to inspections and offered professional in-service training, but we receive no financial recognition.

I am rapidly coming to the conclusion that the system is exploitative. Mass resignations of governors would bring the system to its knees - and would concentrate ministerial minds wonderfully.
