Governors dismissed

17th February 1995 at 00:00
Education Secretary Gillian Shephard has dismissed all but two governors at Wilmorton College, Derby, following an inquiry headed by Professor Michael Shattock of Warwick University. It found mismanagement, with governors being improperly paid remuneration, and a lack of proper audit procedures. Mrs Shephard decided to take no action on another inquiry calling for all governors of St Philip's VI Form College, Birmingham, to be sacked. The college is due to close in August, 1996.
