Green challenge

28th April 2006 at 01:00
Friends of the Earth have produced a well-designed series of provocative posters and lesson plans for key stage 2 as part of the Mad About series. The posters present strong images which will require classroom discussion if the issues they touch on are to be fully understood - a deranged white-coated GM scientist opposed to a friendly stallholder selling organic farm produce, a smiling sun trying to shine through clouds of traffic exhaust, inhabitants of a tropical forest watching their trees being cut down to make European toilet seats. Lesson plans on topics such as waste, recycling and climate change are also available.
