Green light for Rochdale merger

ROCHDALE Council's plans to close and merge Sparrow Hill and Oakenrod primary schools have been approved by a school adjudicator.

But Dr Alan Billings, appointed to decide on school organisation issues which cannot be resolved locally, said that he sympathised with Oakenrod parents and staff who had objected and urged the authority to consider some of the road safety issues they had raised.
