Halton College;News in brief;FE Focus

22nd May 1998 at 01:00
In a report into the investigations at Halton College last week we referred to college governor Phil Hemmings. We have been asked to point out that Mr Hemmings is no longer an employee of Apple UK and currently works for Research Machines.

An editorial comment in The TES also referred to the Serious Fraud Office "going into Halton College". We understand that they did not physically enter the college. There was a meeting between the independent auditors, Cheshire police, the Further Education Funding Council and the Serious Fraud Office. But the SFO is not investigating further. We regret any misunderstanding the article may have caused.
