Head charged with assault

A HEAD is on trial for assault after allegedly slapping a 10-year-old pupil. Marjorie Evans, 56, denies hitting the boy after he became unruly when she told him he couldn't go swimming wth other children in Gwent, South Wales, in September. Abergavenny magistrates made an order banning identification of the boy and the school. The case was adjourned to today.
