Head parrot

Donnie Stewart, head of Turriff Academy, reminded delegates at the Scottish Secondary Teachers' Association conference about the view of management, as seen from the classroom.

And it's all to do with parrots. A man goes into a pet shop to buy a parrot and spies three of them. The first one costs pound;5,000. It is amazingly handy with computers and can work any program.

The second parrot costs pound;10,000 and is so sophisticated it can not only handle any program but repair hardware and devise its own software.

The third parrot costs pound;15,000. "What does it do?" asks the buyer.

"I don't know, but the other two parrots call him boss."
