* Headteachers' pay is falling further behind comparable private and public-sector jobs, according to evidence to be used in the National Association of Headteachers' submission to the STRB. Heads of medium-sized secondary schools average pound;62,400 a year, as against pound;69,000 earned by their counterparts in industry and the service sector. Heads of medium-sized primary schools average pound;39,200 in pay, against pound;47,400 in comparable jobs.
