Media coverage of local government matters, including education, has not been particularly extensive over the years.

The Connections newsletter of the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities clearly hopes a corner is being turned and welcomes a new kid on the block, Stephen Stewart of the Herald.

It appears that among his experiences so far are chasing hedgehog culls in the Western Isles and xenotransplantation. "He looks forward to covering local government news," according to the Cosla blatt. Quite.
