Paddy Christie, long-serving Scottish Television reporter, was part of the media scrum which descended on Netherlee primary in East Renfrewshire last week to witness the kids chanting out that they would be good readers.
As Christie stood outside a classroom, waiting her turn t file a report, a young photographer from a Glasgow news agency approached and asked: "Are you the headteacher?" "Do I look like a headteacher?" Christie asked.
"Yes, miss," answered the lad, as Paddy thought hard about her neat, two-piece blue suit and stern visage.
