Free lesson plans based on a new BBC biblical cartoon series are being made available to support the teaching of RE in primary schools.

Friends and Heroes, an animated adventure series featuring Bible stories from the Old and New Testaments, will be screened on the BBC's CBBC channel from next month. Thirteen lesson plans have been produced which are designed to complement national guidelines for the RE syllabus for seven to 11-year-olds. They will be available to download from March 12 at http:uk.friendsandheroes.comlessons.

DVD recordings will also be available to order from the website. These include full audio descriptions for the blind and subtitles for deaf and hard-of-hearing pupils.
