The Scottish Hockey Union's new youth panel will meet for the first time today. The group of 15- to 21-year-olds from across Scotland aim to encourage more young people to become involved in the sport off the pitch.

The panel will meet at the Adventure Centre in Ratho near Edinburgh for a team-building session before going on to the SHU's office in Edinburgh. Each member will set a personal development plan in their particular field of interest, such as coaching or umpiring, and they will have the chance to arrange a hockey promotion activity.
