Hollow voice

24th January 2003 at 00:00
YOUR correspondent (TES, January 10) is wrong in stating that "the last thing" we wish to read about is the General Teaching Council. The GTC, by its own admission, has no voice on issues which matter to teachers. It is only by publicising cases of teachers being hauled before its kangaroo courts for walking on pavement cracks, that we can give the lie to the GTC's hollow claims that it is acting in the interests of teachers.
