Homework in the holidays

Your reviewer ("Get the message on letters home", TES, November 10) has not only misquoted our publication, Home-school policies: a practical guide, but totally missed the point.

Daily "homework" throughout children's holidays? Never - not even to please David Blunkett! We should be the last people to suggest such an intrusive extension into children's front rooms and their lives on 365 days of the year.
