Ten local authorities will share pound;250,000 from the Scottish Arts Council's recent round of Hothouse Projects awards.

Among the arts projects being supported is a touring theatre production for primary pupils about substance misuse, coupled with a training programme for primary teachers and community workers to encourage them to consider using drama as an educational tool. Others include a medieval banquet with entertainment, web-cam chats with students in Oslo as part of an exploration of how Scotland is perceived at home and abroad, an exploration of local dialect and traditions and a photography and journalism project for primary to higher education students.
