Where cash from school fundraising efforts can go:

* Education International is collecting funds to aid the more than 10,000 teachers affected by the tsunami and provide crucial training for school staff to help their pupils overcome trauma. www.ei-ie.org

* The Disasters Emergency Committee is an umbrella group of UK aid organisations - including Action Aid, British Red Cross and Oxfam. Visit www.dec.org.uk or call 0870 60 60 900.

* The United Nations Children's Fund, Unicef, is working to meet the "urgent needs of hundreds of thousands of people" affected by the tsunami.
