Humiliated by bid

16th June 2000 at 01:00
I'VE just finished mine. I'm exhausted. It has taken three days. Three days when I should have been planning for the coming half-term.

It is an excellent form of Machiavellian control - 250,000 teachers all pending their holidays begging for a pay award that we all already deserve. Is there a teacher who has not found it a humiliating experience.
