Hutt backs 3-7 phase

Education Minister Jane Hutt, has denied Conservative claims that the play-led foundation phase for three to seven-year-olds is failing to achieve its objectives. In a plenary session at the Senedd last week, Tory AM Alan Cairns alleged that academics and teaching unions were concerned and inspectors unhappy with progress so far. Ms Hutt said a full evaluation of the foundation phase roll-out will begin next year.
