Game on with revision app

A series of apps for the iPhone and iPad aims to provide a competitive element to revision. The InQuizitor range covers 12 subjects and combines question and answer sessions with gameplay rewards. Each app features between 250 and 1,000 questions, based on the GCSE or Scottish standard grade syllabus, and costs #163;1.79. www.inquizitor.com

A daily news fix for young people

News bulletins to help secondary pupils engage with the world have been launched by Channel 4 Learning Clipbank, a video footage library. News Blast is a daily 60-second broadcast, each one featuring four headlines accompanied by a transcript. The bulletins are available from 8am every weekday morning for Clipbank subscribers, and a sample can be seen at www.facebook.comClipbank

OCR to offer Adobe qualification

Pupils will be able to get a nationally recognised award in using Adobe software through exam board OCR. The board has announced it is to add the Adobe Certified Associate certificate to its Creative iMedia qualifications for pupils who can demonstrate skills in using digital media tools.
