An incredible toy story

Once Upon a TimeFive Decades of Toys 1950-2000, Museum of Childhood, Edinburgh, all summer Slinky, Spirograph, Holly Hobbie, My Little Pony, Snakes and Ladders and GameBoy are just a few of the toys included in a display marking the 50th anniversary of the Museum of Childhood. Some of the most popular toys from each of the past five decades are represented. "Once Upon a Time" also features some of the best-loved books by the world renowned children's author, Hans Christian Andersen, who was born 200 years ago. The exhibition includes The Red Shoes, The Ugly Duckling and The Emperor's New Clothes and is complemented by costumes designed for dramatic presentations of his many fairy tales.
