Lee Woods, the editor of Oi (Official Interpreter) a new national weekly newspaper for under-18s to be launched later this year, would like to hear from teachers of English, media studies and art interested in encouraging their students to submit news, feature articles, cartoon strips and fiction. GENERATION EARTH Generation Earth volunteers give presentations in secondary schools in the Bristol area to raise awareness of environmental issues.

The group is planning a procession through the city centre to protest about the Ashton Court quarry extension, which will destroy one of Bristol's popular green spaces and endanger rare species of flowers. At a weekly meeting, children's ideas are incorporated into poster design, costume making, banner painting and street theatre events.
