Creativity in Education, a new programme developed by the London Arts Board, aims to promote the value of creative learning and teaching in London schools, youth organisations and training establishments. National Youth Arts Wales supports youth arts activity in Wales and co-ordinates workshops, training courses and performance opportunities in partnership with national agencies, local educational establishments, theatres, arts centres and music and dance groups. The initiative represents the National Yout Brass Band, Choir, Orchestra and Theatre of Wales and two new projects, National Youth Dance Wales and the National Youth Chamber Ensemble of Wales. Through the Young Promoters education programme, students aged 15 to 18 are being given start-up capital to run a business which promotes live music. Five groups of young promoters will be set up around the country with experienced concert promoters acting as mentors. The two-year project is part of The Music Experience, a development programme organised by the National Federation of Music Societies supported by BT and the Lottery.
