* CILT is collecting information from universities, schools and colleges for a survey of research on language teaching. An online forum at will allow researchers to share details of their projects. The site also contains a database from the previous survey. Data collected will be published online and in a book with accompanying articles in summer 2000. * A video and accompanying booklet showing how two teachers can work in partnership to improve the literacy of bilingual learners has been produced by Islington's Ethnic Minorities Achievement Service. Entitled Stepping Stones - effective teaching, effective learning: curriculum access for bilingual learners, the video was made following a term's work at Hungerford Junior School and will be used as part of Islington's in-service teachers' training programme. pound;10 video, pound;5 booklet within the borough; pound;13 video, pound;7 booklet outside the borough from: Ethnic Minorities Achievement Service, Islington Council, Barnsbury Centre, Offord Road, London N1 1QF.
