Inner-city bonus

High-calibre Oxford University graduates from St Hugh's College are being offered a pound;2,000 bursary to teach in challenging inner city secondary schools for two years. There is pound;1,000 each from the college and the Sutton Trust educational charity if they sign up to Teach First. They are placed in schools with more than a third of pupils eligible for free school meals. Half of the participants so far have remained in teaching.
