International conference

THE International Society for Music Education (ISME) is calling a conference to celebrate "the spirit and soul of music as well as the technological advances that connect culture and humanity".

"The Music of the Spheres" will be held in Edmonton, Canada, on July 17-22 and would-be participants can register on the ISME website, www.isme.org ISME, founded by UNESCO in 1953 to act as the voice for the music educators of the world, represents all levels of music eucation, for all ages, and aims to advance music education - and education through music - as a lifelong process. Anyone may join for a basic rate of pound;16 per year, for which they get access to conferences and newsletters. For an additional fee, they receive the "International Journal of Music Education".
