International - Intercontinental allies

The Rwanda Scotland Alliance was launched at Glasgow University earlier this week.

The alliance's remit is to support and promote activities between the two countries in education, development and business.

Ahead of the launch, Claver Gatete, Rwandan ambassador to the UK, gave a lecture, "Rwanda and Scotland: partners in development". A spokesperson for the Glasgow Centre for International Development said: "Over the last few years, there has been an increasing number of collaborative activities between schools, NGOs, businesses, colleges and universities in Rwanda and Scotland, and the establishment of the RwSA gives us the opportunity to co-ordinate and develop a larger number of partnership activities between the two countries."
