Introducing the Romans

19th November 2004 at 00:00
The superb teachers' pack, This Way to the Northern Frontier, has been deservedly praised in The TES for the inspiring way it presents its theme "Tribes and Romans in Northern Britain" to the widest variety of primary-age pupils. The related website does much more than make the pack available online - it allows learners to explore many related ideas, such as why the Romans came here, who resisted their invasion, what they ate, how they worshiped. It does this through a colourful, informative and user-friendly series of pages. Children's own pictures, writing, pottery, and drama add an extra dimension of inspiration.
