Irish People in Schools
"The aim is to provide first and second generation Irish children with role models of successful Irish people and to break down prejudice against the Irish by reminding British children of the contribution made by Irish people in all walks of life in Britain," says Shaun Traynor. The videotaped visits will form an archive illustrating how the Irish are now perceived in Britain. The project is funded by the Irish fund of Great Britain so there is no cost to schools.
