IT on a winning streak

The new proposals lend symbolic reinforcement to the Government's drive to give technology its due, though not central, place in the curriculum.

A Pounds 230 million UK initiative, funded by lottery cash, is intended to train all teachers in information and communications technology.

SCET has already won a contract to audit existing information technology skills in Scotland so a training programme can be devised, backed by Scotland's lottery share of Pounds 23 million.
